Two conferences by Tom Kundig from Olson Kundig Architects

How Tom Kundig works, his background and influences and how these have shaped his projects, focusing on his work with buildings and landscape, the nature of community and the craft of building. All part of his tradecraft but concepts that also concern everyone because of the inevitable cascade effects of architecture on society.

These and other aspects of the architect’s tradecraft are the themes that Tom Kundig, founding partner of Olson Kundig Architects will be discussing in the two public lectures he will be giving on 27 October at the Tulane University School of Architecture in New Orleans, LA and on 3 December at the Architecture department of Iowa State University in Ames, IA.
It will also give the opportunity to find out more about the projects designed by Olson Kundig Architects, from the founding partner’s perspective, projects like the house titled The Pierre (San Juan Island, Washington, USA), a winner of the Institute Honor Awards for Architecture 2014, or the recent Secret Garden, a play area and lush garden created on the roof of a department store in Uijeongbu, South Korea.
