HOMI Smart, where design meets digital technology

HOMI Smart, where design meets digital technology is an experimental format, an event at Fiera Milano during the HOMI Lifestyles Show, where design encounters the world of digital technology and Web 2.0. Designers and creative artists confront companies and the demands of the new millennium.



Milan is the consummate city of design and thanks to Fiera Milano it now has a new major project, HOMI, the lifestyle show revolving around people, their styles and their spaces.





HOMI Smart is produced in collaboration with idLAB, and presents an innovative combination of the design and the digital worlds, as an incubator of ideas and a facilitator to find new forms of interaction. 
A network of creatives and companies, of communicators and users has been created, with a series of activities involving a range of exhibitors from the world of design 2.0 and an interesting panel of guests and events. The network is already online with a dedicated Twitter magazine.





A very significant part of the HOMI Smart area will focus on the immersive experience. A space where visitors can use virtual reality to follow the entire product cycle, which has been reinterpreted with an experiential twist. Visitors can enjoy five theme worlds: Ideas for Tomorrow, Unique Materials, Sharing Visions, Future Traveling and New Lifestyles.
The schedule also includes three themed breakfasts where companies, designers from the Web 2.0 world, academics, designers and communication and innovation experts  will debate a topic introduced by a special guest speaker. 



Three workshops for the trade are also proposed alongside these meetings, to explore the idea of “smart homes”, of community design and of how everything impacts the world of work.
Livegreenblog will be at the Digital Breakfast on Monday 19 September, and we'll have the opportunity to explore the themes and to get to know the network protagonists.
