Artscape Norway Landscape and architecture in Norway

The landscapes of Norway perfectly combining art and architecture and nature are the keys to the international Artscape Norway project, bringing Norway’s experience using contemporary art and architecture as key drivers of socioeconomic and cultural development in small communities to the Czech Republic.
Photographs, documentaries and videos represent the "Norwegian miracle" in which environmentalists, landscape artists, urban planners, artists and art historians work with city governments and tour operators. Norway has set up 18 national nature itineraries since 1994, focusing on a form of tourism in which preservation of the country’s natural heritage is linked with contemporary art. The plan for a series of site-specific installations such as panoramic structures, monumental sculptures, information panels and furnishings for rest areas in nature parks and other public spaces has allowed contemporary art and architecture to attract foreign visitors, promoting the cultural and socio-economic development of small communities in Norway.
Artscape Norway is now open at Jaroslav Fragner Gallery in Prague, accompanied by a book, conferences and workshops featuring Norwegian experts as well as photographs by Jiří Havran, Filip Šlapal, Andrea Pujmanová and Jarle Waehler.
