The designs of Ettore Sottsass sr online at MART

A large collection of graphic works by architect Ettore Sottsass sr, has been digitally reproduced and can now be consulted in the CIM, MART?s historical archive operating system.

The drawings , reproduced in digital form by photographer Nicola Eccher and catalogued byCarlo Prosser, focus particularlyon the activity of architect Ettore Sottsass sr in Trentino. There are sketches, overviews and studies of the surrounding environment, together with 90 architectural designs, most of which have been built and are constructions that still exist.

The initiative is the result of a partnership by MART and the Superintendency for Architectural and Archaeological Heritage of the autonomous province of Trento, and is accompanied by a publication“Le profonde radici. Disegni di Ettore Sottsass sr. 1911-1929” (Deep Roots. Designs by Ettore Sottsass sr. 1911-1929), edited by Fabio Campolongo and Paola Pettenella, which contains over 200 drawings never seen before, linked to the architect?s training and his work in the years after the first world war.
