Costa-Fierros: Music Park in Seville
Following construction of Cocheras underground station in Seville, Agencia de Obra Pública de la Junta de Andalucía appointed architects Costa-Fierros to come up with a masterplan for redevelopment of the whole area. With its ceramic, limestone and granite pavement, the new Music Park becomes a big plaza linking two residential neighbourhoods.

Takehiko Nez’s architecture is all about details: thoughtful choice of materials, a focus on order in form, respect for and relations with the landscape. In his home in Kanagawa, the landscape is not so much his inspiration as an element which is in turn “designed” as an extension of the aesthetic and descriptive solutions he uses in the interiors.

Giancarlo Mazzanti’s plan for a new elementary school is based on the idea that architecture can become a tool for the rebirth of a neighbourhood, an instrument of social cohesion and of pride in belonging to a place. If the building also offers an example of optimal use of energy resources, the project is worth a mention in the Fassa Bortolo Prize for Sustainable Architecture.

By breaking down volumes and setting them side by side, then choosing materials such as glass for the light and ceramic for the ventilated façades to improve external strength and insulation, proArch bcd designs the first of the new office buildings in Rome’s new Mezzocammino district.
