Edwin M. Lee Apartments, affordable living in San Francisco
The Edwin M. Lee Apartments are the first building in San Francisco to combine supportive housing for both homeless veterans and low-income families. The collaboration between Eddy Maytum Stacy Architects, Saida + Sullivan Design Partners, Swords to Plowshares and the Chinatown Community Development Centre in San Francisco's Mission Bay neighbourhood is a prime example of social and environmental sustainability.

Mork-Ulnes Architects Skigard Hytte living amid nature in Norway
Skigard Hytte is a mountain cabin in the ski resort of Kvitfjell, Norway. Surrounded by the silence of nature and by wild plants, perched on a spur in the land with panoramic views over the valley and the river below, the cabin was designed by architects Casper and Lexie Mork-Ulnes, founders of the studio that bears their names, as a refuge for their family. The cabin has won numerous international awards and is featured in a short film directed by Filmatica / Juan Benavides.

WORKac The Stealth Building living on the rooftops of New York
WORKac has designed a new home on the roof of a historic building with an imposing cast iron façade in Tribeca, one of New York’s most glamorous neighbourhoods. The architects managed to add a new residential unit on the roof without altering the building’s historic façade in order to comply with the restrictions imposed by the New York City Landmark Commission.
