Sustainable living that combines function and aesthetic.
The desire to protect our planet by reducing our carbon footprint is becoming a common sentiment. The building industry is a real heavyweight in global carbon emissions, so home building plays an important part in sustainability.

Based on the assumption that sustainable materials and renewable energies in home builds are an absolute must for really eco-friendly solutions, Slovenian firm ekoconcept has come up with prefabricated timber homes.

Trees consume carbon dioxide to grow, and they produce oxygen, making wood a naturally “green” material.

Locally sourced wood is used in the off-site prefabrication process. This choice guarantees “0 fuel km” materials, which reduces the carbon emissions caused by transport. Not only that but it also drastically decreases the build time and costs as a result.

So, this design goes for ecological materials and figures in high end technology to both the building and the home’s other energy needs. These homes incorporate the use of domotics and excellent thermal insulation, making theme extremely energy efficient for a lifestyle with a low carbon footprint, which doesn’t come at the expense of aesthetics and contemporary facilities.
