Green bioclimatic conservatory: ecology and harmony.
Complementary materials used to create an eco-sustainable conservatory: The name that Italian designer Davide Vercelli this project – developed in collaboration with Davide Selva – is Aggregati, or collection, revealing its key idea.

Close contact with nature triggers the best ideas to create projects that are not only “green” in name but also have a truly ecological core.

So, cuttings left over from pruning in the Piedmont countryside have become the linchpin of the pavilion created by Davide Vercelli with – and for – Davide Selva’s company that specialises in winter gardens, verandas and conservatories. This foliage was fitted into the timber window frames, in turn supported by a steel structure to become a very special shading system.

This shading system adds privacy to the multipurpose conservatory – suitable for a wide range of uses, including a temporary shelter in the green countryside and a fair stand – in addition to creating unique and ever-changing plays of light and shade.

“Aggregati” – collection – wins you over with its skilful blend of extremely different materials, and also because it uses farm cuttings left over from pruning, making it intrinsically sustainable. This choice is supported by triple insulated glass on the walls and roof shading that, together with appropriate insulation can give it an A energy efficiency rating.

All of this plus the added value of a totally natural feel, bringing to mind a traditional hut, the shelter par excellence, to rekindle and rediscover that harmony with our surroundings that we so often miss.
