Festival International des Jardins, Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire Only a few weeks left to enjoy a show that pushes all the excitement buttons for green thumbs, landscape enthusiasts and anyone who just loves gardens and green spaces: The Festival International des Jardins at the Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire in France closes on 2 November.

The Festival International des Jardins at the Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire in France is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. The event is very popular, attracting more than 400,000 visitors each year, where they can enjoy first-hand the sensorial experiences given by the latest landscaping creations.

More than 700 gardens have been created in the last 25 years - prototypes of tomorrow's garden, advocates of new ideas for designing green spaces with real “living works”. This is thanks to the actions of the landscape designers, architects, designers, scenographers and gardens who come here from all over the world. A festival characterised by gardens but also by diversity, by creativity and by the mutual fusion between different arts to create really unique places where you can enter into harmony with nature.

The theme of the 2016 Festival International des Jardins is “Jardins du siècle à venir” - the gardens of next century. The gardens here are the response to an international competition that each year attracts the participation of more than 300 multidisciplinary firms, many internationally renowned landscapers like Peter Walker, Emilio Ambasz, Shodo Suzuki and Louis Benech together with architects including Pritzker prize-winner Wang Shu or Dominique Perrault, without neglecting the world of design, theatre and dance.

So, the Festival International des Jardins alla Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire offers a closer look at  gardens as extraordinary places for reflection, innovation and experimentation, as we can see in the images.

The festival is still open until 2 November to be able to see the responses to the future, not only of landscape architecture but of our coexistence with vegetation, in their full Autumnal splendour.
