Amorph lamp made of recycled plastic

The Amorph Lamp by Frozenplastic Lab is a unique design made of recycled plastic. To be exact, it consists of low density polyethylene obtained from former plastic bags and drinking bottles and purchased from a recycling plant in Israel near the studio’s Tel-Aviv location.
 
Each piece is hand-made, with special molds allowing it to form spontaneously. This means that each lamp is unique in shape and in color. A UV protector is added to the low-density polyethylene in order to protect it from the sun and ensure a long life.
 
Frozenplastic Lab was founded in 2011 by Itai Arbel and product designer Shahar Kagan as an evolution of Kagan’s bachelor project at the Holon Institute of Technology, which centered around  a curiosity about the deformities and abnormalities that occur in the plastic industry.
