2014 National Design Awards. Landscape Architecture category.

Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum introduced the National Design Awards to honour the best in American design, and Andrea Cochran Landscape Architecture is the winner of the 2014 award for the Landscape Architecture Category. 



Andrea Cochran, FASLA has been working in the field of landscape architecture in San Francisco for many years and she established Andrea Cochran Landscape Architecture in 1998. The firm tackles a range of projects including site planning and landscaping for single-family residences and public parks, hotels and commons, as well as for community housing and schools.





A common trait running through all its projects is its great professional ethic, focused environmental sustainability, and always paying careful attention to natural site conditions. Andrea Cochran worked in collaboration with other architects until she set up her own studio, whose work is infused by a sense of intimacy and a strong attention to detail, and is distinguished by its integration of landscape, art and architecture, providing a fundamental human experience.



The 2014 National Design Award is an additional, important recognition of the work of Andrea Cochran Landscape Architecture whose designs have already garnered numerous other awards, including seven Honour Awards and an Award of Excellence from the American Society of Landscape Architects.
