The new project by the Danish architectural studio BIG was created in collaboration with architect Raymond Jungles, in charge of landscape design, and will have a major impact on the Miami skyline. Two towers twisted on their vertical axis offset the different levels, this is the basic idea underlying the project proposed by BIG for the waterfront in Coconut Grove, southeast of Miami.
The two skyscrapers will contain 96 apartments, all of which will have broad sea views thanks to the way the two towers twist. Bjarke Ingels, a founding partner in BIG, explained that the architects chose to use and develop a number of construction elements which they consider an established part of local architecture in Miami, such as sunshades and floor to ceiling windows.
