The drama of industrial archaeology is the favourite subject of photographer Alessandro Ante, who works in lower Piedmont but is originally from Alto Adige. His dramatically architectural shots illustrate every aspect of the spaces, capturing their claustrophobic and monumental aspects in a manner worthy of Piranesi, an effect obtained by going from light to shadow without passing through intermediate shades.
The images he creates reveal the duality of space built by man, a human and emotional stage for discovery, in search of the beauty inherent in the traces left behind by our recent past, now 20th century archaeology.
