Olavi Koponen and the round home

On the basis of the needs of a private client confined to a wheelchair, Olavi Koponen designs a home that makes its limitations into its strong point: the need for barrier-free movement suggests the idea of a circular floorplan on a level that determines the shape of the building. The wooden cladding and structure are a declaration of Koponen’s vocabulary and his ecological architecture.
