Just before Christmas the Japanese government announced its decision to replace Zaha Hadid’s project, which had won the design competition but was then rejected because of the high cost of its construction, with the plan by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma for the new Olympic Stadium in Tokyo.

The winning design for the new Science Centre at Città della Scienza in Naples

On the 7th July the winning design was announced for the new Science Centre at Città della Scienza in Naples: the joint proposal by Stige & Partners, Icaro, Dinamicamente Architetti, Nicola Marchetti, Alfredo Postiglione, Salvatore De Lucia, Valerio Ciotola and Andrea Guazzieri. The Città della Scienza was badly damaged in a fire on 4th March 2013.
