Expo Dubai 2020 has officially opened its doors. Our journey through the pavilions of the first Universal Exposition organised in the Arab world, could only start from the Italian Pavilion: designed by the CRA-Carlo Ratti Associati and Italo Rota Building Office, with Matteo Gatto and F&M Ingegneria, the project presents itself as an experiment into reconfigurable architecture and circularity.

New dates for the Venice Architecture Biennale, Expo Dubai and Cersaie 2020

Biennale di Venezia’s 17th International Architecture Exhibition is the latest in a long list of international events rescheduled due to the travel restrictions and physical distancing requirements imposed to limit the spread of the covid-19 pandemic. Before the Venice event, new dates had already been announced for Expo in Dubai, originally scheduled for the autumn of 2020 but now postponed until 2021, and Cersaie, the International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings in Bologna, traditionally held in September but postponed until November in 2020.

La Bellezza della Creatività - Italian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai

The Italian Pavilion at Expo 2020 “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future” in Dubai, designed by Carlo Ratti, Italo Rota, Matteo Gatto and F&M Ingegneria, was selected by a panel of experts out of 19 proposals submitted in an international design competition.
