The Masone Labyrinth in Fontanellato (PR) designed by architect Pier Carlo Bontempi for Franco Maria Ricci hosts an exhibition of interior and art photographs by Massimo Listri until July 31. The photographer from Florence has worked with publisher Franco Maria Ricci since 1981 on "FMR" magazine, a pioneering prestigious art magazine that first came out in 1982.

The encounter with FMR marked a milestone in the photographer’s career and a crucial turning point in his choice of subject. In the early 1980s the photographer was interested in portraits of people, and created a series of black-and-white portraits of prominent figures on the 20th century cultural scene: Borges, René Clair, Montale, Pasolini, Zeri.

His partnership with FMR led Massimo Listri to start photographing interiors: palaces, museums, but also empty abandoned spaces such as the attics and private areas in public buildings. Places which, as Giorgio Antei, notes, restore their essence "through photographs composed on the basis of a code of elegance, harmony, proportion and symmetry".
The exhibition, curated by Laura Casalis and Giorgio Antei for Fondazione Franco Maria Ricci, is organised by theme, and includes both well-known historic photographs and works never shown before in public.
