Fondazione Iris Ceramica Group recognised at the Corporate Heritage Awards

On November 17, the award ceremony for the Corporate Heritage Awards 2022 was held in Rome, at the Confindustria Congress Centre. An important Italian event linked to Heritage Marketing, with an award established to recognise companies that have made their historical and cultural heritage an important strategic corporate asset, which they are continuously committed to enhancing. The Fondazione Iris Ceramica Group received the prestigious award in the "Narrazione Per Il Sociale" (Narrative for the Social Sector) category, thanks to the "Quarto Fuoco" project developed in collaboration with ANFFAS - Sassuolo (National Association of Families of People with Intellectual and/or Relational Disabilities).

The award is a confirmation of the Foundation's commitment in the social domain, achieved through concrete support for a project that promotes inclusion and, at the same time, enhances the local artisan tradition of the territory to which it belongs. Together with ANFFAS, a national voluntary association that operates a large branch in the Sassuolo area, the Fondazione Iris Ceramica Group developed the inclusive project called "Quarto Fuoco". The project is aimed at children with disabilities who were involved in a ceramic decoration workshop.
Art and doing things together, applied to the decoration of ceramics, thus become the means to promote social inclusion. The Foundation's role was to provide the raw materials needed to launch the laboratory, as well as the technical staff who accompanied the students in their creative path, transmitting the tradition of ceramic workmanship. The name of the project, "Quarto Fuoco" (or Fourth Fire), draws inspiration from the ceramic production phases and, in particular, from the expression "terzo fuoco" (or third fire) which refers to the firing phase to which fine artistic ceramics are subjected. The project developed with ANFFAS, in fact, offers a "fourth firing": a solidary and unprecedented experience for the entire Italian ceramics district, with the creation of a new opportunity for inclusion in the territory, starting from a tradition practiced and deeply rooted here. Through the artistic work, a new form of social interaction is created that allows each participant to express themselves individually, yet sharing and transmitting their potential to the whole group. An initiative that also contributes to enhancing and disseminating the ceramic craftsmanship tradition, an activity in which the Fondazione Iris Ceramica Group is constantly engaged.
