LEED Gold: Kennedy Homes by Glavovic Studio. The architects of Glavovic Studio, Florida, have designed a LEED Gold for Homes affordable housing project with 132 units. The project concept was designed on a large green space.
The Glavovic studio project in Fort Lauderdale is located on a former public housing. site of more than 34 thousand square metres. It comprises eleven buildings, ranging from one to five storeys.

Their style reflects the typical South Florida climate characteristics, focusing on natural light and ventilation, and taking advantage of the prevailing breezes to reduce the need for air-conditioning as much as possible.
The criteria of sustainability was applied in the selection of the materials: locally sourced, low VOC content and outdoor areas adapted to manage rainwater runoff. Even the outdoor lighting is designed to minimise light pollution to adjacent properties.
The Kennedy Homes project received the 2013 LEEDership and Green Award for the best Midrise Residential project, while the city of Fort Lauderdale has given the development a Community Appearance Award.
