Ceverine School: a new school project by AFH in Haiti.
The Stiller Foundation is working with Architecture for Humanity and Save the Children on construction of a series of schools in Artibonite, a rural region of Haiti.

The Ceverine School was to be expanded and renewed with the addition of a second building and adaptation of the construction to the safety requirements for natural disasters.

Like all schools designed by AFH in Haiti, the Ceverine School uses rainwater and compost toilets to minimise its environmental impact. The complex also includes a kitchen, which has been completely renewed to ensure fire safety.

The building is made out of locally available materials , improving the project’s overall carbon footprint. As there is no electricity in the area, all the work had to be done by hand. In any case construction of the expansion did not require any major items of equipment, as it is built on the basis of the model of local architecture to provide a safe place for almost 300 students who come here from all over the area to attend school, some of them walking 2 hours to get to the school.

After the École La Dignité in Jacmel, AFH builds another school in rural Haiti to help educate the people for a better future.
