Blu Creativity. A break from metropolitan stress. Facet Studio. Australian architecture firm, Facet Studio has fitted out the interior of Blu Creativity, an escape from the stresses of life, a hub of wellness, despite its central city location. A leap into boundless nature.

Architectural design can be used to create spaces that involve users and engage their imagination going beyond the perception of immediate space.

The Facet Studio architects responded to the brief of their client, who wanted customers that stepped through the door into their hair salon to leave the city behind them, so they could rediscover a more natural and human dimension.

So they divided the space into different operations areas using porous partitions and translucent curtains instead of solid walls.  Ephemeral spatial separations that still give people a perception of the overall space.

Ceiling fans generate “wind”, visualised with the gently moving curtains, providing an intangible but very much alive visible phenomenon. So this air movement, the image of nature, is used as object and becomes something that in turn decorates the space and removes its artificial feel.
