Anonyme, 3579 Flowers, a truly green project With 3579 Flowers, the French firm of architects Anonyme designed a project that redevelops a building on Raoul Dufy street in Paris thanks to the intelligent use of vertical gardens. The new green facade improves living comfort and creates new habitats for plant and animal species.

Anonyme, the architecture firm of  Noureddine Souilah-Edib and Jean Frizzi has completed a revamp in Paris, on Rue Raoul Dufy. Located in the XX arrondissement, the PARTANT residential complex is slightly set back from the street. With direct access to the apartments, an unusual configuration for this street, anonymous gaps have been created that unfortunately generate conflict between the occupants and passers-by who abuse these semi-secluded spaces.
Not an easy issue to resolve but Anonyme has responded with a new layout of the area alongside the ground floor, redesigned as a condominium garden and fenced off to avoid unpleasant intrusions. On the other hand, as the title says, the project's “real showpiece” is the green facade, a vertical garden that, in addition to providing great insulation for the structure also improves the building's microclimate, providing habitats for local fauna.
We asked the architects for details about the actual performance of this green wall that was completed in 2015. Thanks to a mindful selection of plants used following the example of the famous French botanist, Patrick Blanc, father of the vertical gardens, and an automated drip-watering system, all cared for by gardeners of the complex owners, Paris Habitat, the green facade is in excellent condition almost three years since it was created. This is an important detail because you often see “green walls” that only last a short time and turn out to be simply “make-up”. Any vertical garden needs careful design without improvisation. The seasonality of the selected plants is also very important: 3579 Flowers by Anonyme changes during the year, from the white and orange blossoms of Spring to the purple and blue of summer and the scents of mint and basil, accompanying the residents with a burst of colours and fragrances to improve their quality of life.
