Brooks + Scarpa, Rosa Gardens

Sport & Wellness,

Brooks + Scarpa Architects recently completed a housing development containing 57 apartments and a number of common service areas.

Brooks + Scarpa, Rosa Gardens
The housing development designed by Brooks + Scarpa Architects was built with energy conservation targets which exceed the measures required for buildings of this type.

Rosa Gardens is a housing development including 57 two and three-room apartments which share a number of common services as well as sports facilities, a basketball court and a swimming pool.
Despite the apparently simple layout and regular geometry of the lot, the architects considered a number of construction solutions and phases and conducted software simulations of them. Their goal was to orient and build the construction to make the most of carbon-neutral solutions such as natural ventilation and natural lighting by day.

The construction uses recycled materials such as the aluminium exterior cladding, made from recycled aluminium cans pressed into blocks of custom size made specifically for Rosa Gardens.
