Norwegian architects, TYIN tegnestue enlisted the help of a group of students from Mexico and Norway to build a viewing structure that shows off the zone’s true economic resource – its landscape.



In many emerging countries, as well as in developed zones like Scandinavia, more and more people are leaving the countryside and rural life behind them and migrating to the cities with all their conveniences and comforts. 





Lista is a small community on the southernmost tip of Norway, home to a rugged, wild landscape, a draw card for investors that could give the locals – and youth in particular – a future.
Together with a group of 50 local landowners, the architects decided to build a structure that would draw attention to the might of the landscape, underscoring the area’s potential for tourism. They built the whole structure using local materials – as they normally do – and leaving a very limited carbon footprint.





Together with a group of students from the Tecnológico in Monterrey Puebla (MX) and from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, TYIN came up with a 60-metre long, gently sloping elevated pathway leading across the uneven landscape to a small cabin built on wooden stilts, like the pathway. 





The whole thing took three weeks to design and build and the community of Lista pitched in by providing accommodation and food as well as helping with construction. 
An example of participative architecture emerging from a community initiative designed to make the most of what this Norwegian territory has to offer: nature.
