The iconic architecture of Barozzi Veiga at The Architects Series

On October 17 at 6:30 PM the new episode of "The Architects Series", the exhibition format curated by THE PLAN magazine for the Iris Ceramica Group will be streamed live from the Iris Ceramica Group and Matimex's showroom in Barcelona.
The protagonist of this thirty-second episode of the series is the Barozzi Veiga international architecture studio based in Barcelona, founded in 2004 by architects Fabrizio Barozzi and Alberto Veiga. Following the consolidated formula of "The Architects Series", the lecture held by the founders of the studio, Fabrizio Barozzi and Alberto Veiga, will be preceded by the screening of a documentary film that offers the public a behind-the-scenes look of the architecture studio to discover Barozzi Veiga's projects, where a staff of 25 talented professionals from all over the world collaborate on projects of the highest level.
The studio's portfolio includes public and private works that have received international acclaim. Some of the iconic designs created by the Barozzi Veiga studio include the Ribera del Duero headquarters (2011), the Infanta Elena Auditorium in Águilas (2011), the Szczecin Philarmonic Hall (2014) and the Tanzhaus cultural centre and dance school (2019). All works with a strong architectural character, able to become important urban and landscape landmarks for the contexts of reference.
Currently, the studio is engaged in innovative projects in different parts of the world, from Belgium to China, from Germany to Spain, from the United Kingdom to the United Arab Emirates and the United States. A particularly important project, in fact, is the new masterplan for the Art Institute of Chicago, one of the most important cultural institutions in North America.

The constant search for excellence and innovation that characterises the studio's architecture is reflected in the prestigious awards received over the years including the Ajac Young Catalan Architect Award (2007), the Barbara Cappochin International Architecture Award (2011), the Medaglia d'Oro all'Architettura Italiana per la migliore opera prima (Gold Medal for Italian Architecture for Best First Work - 2012), the Premio Giovane Talento dell'Architettura Italiana (Young Talent Award for Italian Architecture - 2013) and the Design Vanguard Award (2014). Other important recognitions also include the International FAD Opinion Award and the Life in Architecture Award, as well as the RIBA Award for International Excellence in 2018 for the Bündner Kunstmuseum Chur project. In addition, the studio's works have been the subject of major international exhibitions, including the Venice Biennale in 2016 and exhibitions in Milan and Budweis in 2022. Since 2019, a number of designs and models made by Barozzi Veiga have become part of the permanent collection of the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
