Bernard Khoury exhibition opens at SpazioFMGperl'Architettura
Upon arrival at SpazioFMGperl'Architettura for the opening of the monographic exhibition Bernard Khoury. In order of appearance, visitors’ attention was immediately captured by the “Talking Objects”: sixteen sound boxes suspended in the Milan gallery and showroom of Iris Ceramica and FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti, animated by the stories told by Bernard Khoury himself.
As visitors listen to the Lebanese architect’s words, they see the black line across the floor guiding them across the room to the walls on which drawings and photographs are mounted illustrating Bernard Khoury’s projects and visions. Along the way they may discover connections with other projects and new listening posts in this unusual exhibition.
The selected works are among Bernard Khoury’s best-known projects, constructions that Luca Molinari defines as “having a personality that seeks no mediation”, such as B 018 (1998), an underground nightclub with a futuristic sliding roof that opens up onto the sky, or the NBK residence (2), the architect’s own penthouse home, “which delights in surprising onlookers” (Mara Corradi).
The exhibition, curated by Khoury himself with Luca Molinari, in collaboration with Alessandro Benetti and Danielle Makhoul, continues until December 2, 2016.
