SpazioFMG inaugurates Italy for Interiors. Manifesto #2

SpazioFMGperl'architettura hosts the exhibition Italia per interni. Manifesto #2 (“Italy for interiors. Manifesto #2”), a second "edition" organised in the wake of the success of “Italia per Interni. Manifesto” in 2014. The studios invited to address the theme of interior design in this edition are: Labics / Maria Claudia Clemente and Francesco Isidori, Davide Fabio Colaci Architetto, Luciano Giorgi / lgb architetti and Navone Associati.
At the opening on February 19, visitors were welcomed by curators Luca Molinari and Alessandro Benetti and by SpazioFMG gallery manager Paolo Schianchi, then the architects presented the work on display directly to the public.
The differences in their perspectives and careers are reflected in 4 different ways of exhibiting and presenting their concept of space. Luciano Giorgi/lgb architetti view it as a domestic space in which people want to see themselves reflected, where the architect and cultural references are present on a metaphysical level. Navone Associati draw on their experience working for major Italian industries to view interiors as containers like suspended boxes. Labics / Maria Claudia Clemente and Francesco Isidori present commercial interiors designed for Obicà mozzarella-bars. Davide Fabio Colaci presents interior designs treated as micro-projects which progressively qualify and rewrite bits of the city and the land.
