Geremia Design of San Francisco, a studio known for its interior design projects for web start-ups such as Dropbox and Hightail, designed Instagram’s offices before the company was taken over by Facebook.
Lauren Geremia, the young director of the studio of the same name in San Francisco, designed the interiors of the offices of Instagram, creator of the mobile photo sharing app.
Inspired by the photo sharing social network’s branding, Geremia Design created a space flooded with natural light and characterised by open spaces furnished with natural wood and leather.
The employees’ collection of vintage cameras on exhibit in the lobby, a place for meeting and discussion, becomes the fulcrum of the composition, a clear reference to Instagram’s core business: sharing photographs. The project is a very good example of designing an interior around a web brand.
