Architect Francisco Mangado is again among the winners of the International Architecture Award awarded by the Chicago Athenaeum and European Center for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies with the Metropolitan Arts Press.

The architect Francisco Mangado had already received the famous award in 2011 for the Congress and Exhibition Centre in Avila, for 2012 the international panel of judges gathered in Oslo awarded his project for the Municipal Auditorium of Teulada, in Spain. The winning projects will be part of a travelling exhibition “The City and the World”, which will be presented at the Istanbul Design Biennale in autumn this year.

The project by Mangado designs a building to link the two urban centers of Teulada, on the mountainside, and Moraira along the coast, which are physically separated and unified by one administration are in fact parts of one territory, landscape and culture. These considerations together with the topographic characteristics of the locations are key reference in the architect’s project .
