The consideration that "living in the tropics" means being able to live outside in direct contact with nature inspires the residential renovation project by Luis Pons Design Lab in Tavernier, Florida.
The project expands the home on the side facing the street to improve its privacy , while the living area on the other side has big panes of glass and high ceilings to establish visual contact with the outdoors.
The ground floor is redesigned to create an “open-air living room” with shelter from the elements and from the tropical sunshine, forming a single space joined to the garden surrounding the home.
