Zaha Hadid wins two 2013 RIBA Awards
Architect Zaha Hadid will receive two prizes at the 2013 RIBA Awards, presented by the British architects? order.

Galaxy Soho in Beijing (China) will receive the 2013 RIBA International Award, a prize presented to twelve projects in different parts of the world, selected by a panel of judges led by Peter Clegg of Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios.
The judges emphasised Galaxy Soho?s volumetrics, obtained by breaking the building up into separate volumes connected by bridges. The complex has an almost geological solidity made up of flowing curved lines, in which light plays a key role.

Zaha Hadid?s Pierresvives in Montpellier (France) is one of nine buildings to win the 2013 RIBA European Award. The judges note that what makes the project so successful is the idea of combining all the required functions (archive, multimedia library, etc.) in a single monolithic yet dynamic building, catalysing the community?s interest and promoting regeneration of the district.
