Zaha Hadid Architects has completed work on the Eli & Edythe Broad Art Museum, a cultural centre and educational resource for Michigan State University (MSU) opened on November 10, 2012.

The building?s key feature is its outer cladding with folds in different directions inspired by topographical study of pathways inside and outside the area, indissolubly binding the building to its surroundings.

The folds give the construction an ever-changing appearance which is altered by the angle of the sunlight and the cycle of the seasons, only partly revealing the building?s interior.
The complexity of the façade geometry is reflected in the interior spaces created by connecting different geometries and routes within the built volume. This complexity allows the exhibition curators to interpret connections and spatial relationships from different points of view.
