Wolff Architects Beach House Phillips - Sedgefield

The holiday home designed by Wolff Architects in Sedgefield, South Africa is designed to look like a gigantic sculpture.

The elements characterising the construction are two big dark chimneys on either side of the building, supporting a white cement roof which is slightly convex at the top.
The big windows and doors seem to have been cut out of the volume of this monolithic construction. The architects define the spaces using architectural elements such as a wall, cement frames and windows.

Functions are arranged according to the degree of privacy required in different spaces.
The bedrooms occupy the lower level, while the kitchen and living room are on the upper level, with big windows overlooking the sea.
