Villa Hellearmen in Stavanger, Norway, is the kind of house most of us only see in our dreams.

Villa Hellearmen - Tommie Wilhelmsen.<br />Stavanger, 2005 In a way the project is a succession of opposites which at the same time generate harmonious, assonant chords. Curvaceous lines intersect straight lines, rounded corners contrast with sharp angles, and the warmth of wood dialogues with the severe clarity of white surfaces. Without contrasts, without dissonance. All this finds rest and tranquillity in a perfectly calibrated formal and linguistic synthesis.
The most intriguing part of the villa is without a doubt the wooden box jetting out of the main facade, containing the first floor balcony. This concave volume is the key to the whole project, generating energies and dynamisms which inspire the composition of the entire villa. It juts out like a modern gable, and welcomes people like a loggia.Villa Hellearmen rests on a bright green lawn that suggests new ways of experiencing its colours.
