Unique things from Italy: 2011 Compasso d'Oro Awards

19 prizes for products of design made between 2008 and 2010, 9 prizes for lifetime achievement, 3 international awards, one special prize and 10 Young Design prizes: this is the balance of the 22nd ADI Compasso d?Oro, which concluded with an awards ceremony held on July 12 in La Pelanda at MACRO in Rome.
The award-winning products include the FIAT 500, items of furniture, a mobile home and a tableware service designed by prestigious international architects such as David Chipperfield and renowned Italian designers such as the winners of the awards for lifetime achievement: Cini Boeri, Antonia Campi, Walter de Silva, Piera Gandini, Giancarlo Iliprandi, Enzo Mari and Giotto Stoppino.
The three international awards for lifetime achievement were presented to François Burkhardt, Toshiyuki Kita and Ingo Maurer.
To discover all 300 objects presented with Compasso d?Oro awards since 1954, view the exhibition currently underway at Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome. The award-winning projects in 2011 and all the products published between 2008 and 2010 in the ADI Design Index, a pre-selection of the last edition of the competition, are on exhibit at MACRO Testaccio, La Pelanda. Both exhibitions remain open until September 25, 2011.
