Third In/Arch-ANCE awards – the winners

The third In/Arch/ANCE National Architecture Awards have been presented.
The panel of judges was chaired by artist Arnaldo Pomodoro.



Third In/Arch-ANCE awards – the winners The annual awards promote and publicise quality architecture in Italy in the past 5 years, viewed as the final product of the synergic efforts of client, architect and builder.
Awards are presented in five categories: New Construction, Renovation, Young Architect, Bruno Zevi, Lifetime Achievement.
120 works recommended by twelve advisors involved in the selection of award candidates were examined.
- The national award for a new building went to the expansion of Pius IX Library at Rome?s Lateran University by King Roselli Architetti.
- The national award for a renovation project went to the restoration of the Ico building in the former Olivetti plant in Ivrea to house Vodafone Italia's offices, by Dante Benini & partners, Studio Giacopelli Architetti and Diaspro srl.
- Awards for works by young Italian architects went to Domus Malles, a residential building in Bolzano by Studio Metrogramma; two houses in Orsara, Puglia (FG), by architect Raimondo Guidacci; and a housing development in Imola (BO) by Studio Cristofani & Lelli architetti.

Lastly, the national "Bruno Zevi" award for promotion of architecture, presented to a newspaper, went to Corriere della Sera as a quality example of promotion and information.
Renzo Piano was awarded the In/Arch-Ance award for lifetime achievement.
