The exhibition presented by MVRDV architectural studios poses some interesting questions about contemporary homes and presents a number of alternative architectural projects.

Could there be a more imaginative, interesting alternative to monotonous urban development consisting of massive housing blocks like those that have been built and are being built all over the world, particularly in Southeast Asia? Can the social life of villages and communities be preserved in modern constructions and settings? And what are the key elements that make people feel at home in the buildings and neighbourhoods where they live?

These and other questions are raised by the exhibition presented by MVRDV architectural studio and presented for the first time in Europe at Hamburg Museum until September 29 2013.

The architects of Dutch studio MVRDV offer a number of possible answers through architectural projects that take into account the inhabitants? individual liberty and personality mediated by economic, social and spatial requirements.
Visitors are in turn invited to build their own "vertical village", a potential three-dimensional community.
