The Sanctuary of the
Holy House of Loreto Another important characteristic of the material is its high level of skid-proofing, a crucial factor in a sanctuary where many of the visitors are handicapped people.
Among the various types of manufactured marble utilized, for the crypts of the Holy Pilgrims the choice went to Persiano Rosso and Perlato di Sicilia, capa ble of faithfully reproducing the design and the color of the original quarried marble in the basilica above, and of giving the spaces a particular luminous quality.
In substance, the choice of manufactured marble, once it had been verified that the aesthetic look was perfectly identical to the original floorings, became a purely technical question.
"Even in architecture -Del Bufalo explains - it is necessary to know how to distinguish, to leave traces of the culture and to follow the evolution that this world should never try to inhibit".
