The city of Milan, host of Expo 2015 and much more, is the common thread running through many of this week’s news articles in Floornature, starting with the new image of Spaziofmg, Iris Ceramica and FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti’s gallery in Milan, a real physical place where you can meet Floornature’s editorial staff.

The Best of the Week: Milan

Expo 2015 has put the city of Milan in the limelight, and it will inevitably continue to attract more and more attention in the months to come.
We at Floornature have written about Milan in a number of news articles published this week, starting with some news from home: the new coordinated image of Spaziofmg, Iris Ceramica and FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti’s gallery in Milan, opened in 2014 to provide a real, physical place where people can talk to the Floornature editorial staff.
We take a look at the new image of Spaziofmg, created by Rami El Mogy, Laura Gelonesi, Daisy Vigato and Irene Zivelonghi, students at IUSVE.
The “Milan you’ve never seen” is presented at the Triennale in the exhibition Milano mai vista, showcasing unbuilt projects selected by Fulvio Irace and Gabriele Neri.
"Sentimental" drawings of faces and maps pay homage to the city of Milan in the exhibition “Thank you Milano - 12 faces + 12 maps by architects Angelo Micheli and Nora De Cicco.
And, to end the week, we look at the Italian projects shortlisted for the Mies van der Rohe Award 2015, with two projects built in Milan: Social Housing in Via Cenni by RPA – Rossi Prodi Associati and the Expo Gate, the pavilion designed by Scandurra Studio Architettura as a gateway to the city and to Expo 2015.
