Terminal Intermodale Hoenheim-Nord

Zaha Hadid Architects,

Strasbourg,

Stations,

Creating an energetic, attractive space, well-defined in terms of function and circulation: this was the goal through which Anglo-Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid gave concrete form and expressive force to the city of Strasbourg's idea of building a new station and a parking lot for 800 vehicles.

Terminal Intermodale Hoenheim-Nord The intention of making vehicles into changing, ephemeral components of the place inspires white lines on the black pavement marking each parking lot, curving up from the lowest point according to the line of the trajectory and the site.
The complex interaction between landscape and interior space is a response to the desire to offer a new artificial form of nature capable of breaking down the barriers between the natural and the built environment, improving the civic life of Strasbourg.
