The outside of Teatro degli Arcimboldi is finished in light plaster and dark inert matter, while the basement is finished in black granite.
The plaza on which the structure stands is a point of departure for paths to the parking lot, the railway station and the underground station. The new theatre is in fact positioned in a convenient location for transportation by car or by rail, as it is intended to serve not only the city of Milan but also a vast metropolitan area to the north of the city, extending from Sesto San Giovanni to Monza, and out as far as Lecco, Como and Varese.
The composition of the hall and the structure of the adjacent spaces are characterised by a linear set-up and a composition made up of simple geometric elements, forming an essential yet compact design.
