World Habitat Awards 2021, the winning projects

The World Habitat Awards, originally founded in 1985 and organised by World Habitat in collaboration with UN-Habitat, are the most prestigious award in the housing sector. The 2021 Gold Award winners are the Introducing Community Land Trusts in Continental Europe project (Belgium) and the Housing Monitor project (Lebanon).

The winners of the 2020 World Habitat Awards, the world’s leading housing awards organised by World Habitat in partnership with UN-Habitat include, in the Gold category, a homelessness prevention initiative in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, and an approach to integrate disaster risk management into habitat planning and development in remote areas of Pakistan.

The World Habitat Awards - organised in partnership with UN-Habitat - recognise innovative, outstanding and sometimes revolutionary housing ideas, projects and programmes for the homeless and disadvantaged. For the first time, they will be presented as Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards this year. Altogether, there are nine winning projects and programmes.
