Designed by ABCP architecture, the ice-skating rink in Parc des Saphirs, Boischatel, Canada is a sporting facility sheltered from the weather in both summer and winter by an iconic glulam roof. The award-winning structure made out of locally sourced materials is very popular with the locals.

Winners of the 2021 Prix d’excellence en architecture

Eleven Canadian projects have been awarded the Prix d’excellence en architecture 2021, announced by the Ordre des architectes du Québec during an online gala held on April 1. The Grand Prix d’excellence en architecture 2021 and the ‘Prix du public’ (People’s Choice) were presented to the renovation of the Grand Théâtre de Québec, by architectural studio Lemay and Atelier 21, who brought new life to a theatre designed by architect Victor Prus and opened in 1971.

The architects from Canadian firm Anne Carrier architecture designed the new visitor centre for Seigneurie-des-Aulnaies, a registered Quebec cultural heritage site, basing the concept on the characteristic elements of the surrounding landscape to showcase the site's most interesting landscape and heritage features.
