The 17th Premio Architettura Città di Oderzo award

The 17th edition of the Premio Architettura Città di Oderzo or PAO award, presented since 1997 to promote quality architecture with a special focus on the territory of the Italian regions of the Veneto, Trentino Alto Adige and Friuli Venezia Giulia, is drawing to a close. The judges have looked at 111 submissions in three sections and announced the ten finalists, from which the winner of the 2021 edition will be selected in the month of April.

KAAN Architecten designs Loenen Pavilion, a memorial building in harmony with nature

The pavilion designed by the KAAN architecture firm and recently completed in Loenen, near Apeldoorn, in the Netherlands, is a building in harmony with the nature surrounding it and which becomes the connecting element between the existing Loenen War Cemetery and the new National Veterans Cemetery.

The winners of the “Italian Architect” and “Young Talent of Italian Architecture” Awards 2020

The winners of the annual prizes awarded by the National Council of Italian Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects and Heritage Preservers and by the network of provincial orders were recently announced. The award ceremony will take place in January during the “Festa dell'architetto” event. The 2020 edition of the traditional “Architetto italiano 2020” (Italian Architect) and Giovane talento dell’Architettura italiana 2020”“ (Young Talent of Italian Architecture) awards focused on the “school” theme and, this year, were fittingly paired with the special award titled “(Ri)progettare la scuola con le nuove generazioni post Covid-19” ((Re)designing the school with the new post Covid-19 generations).

Piercy & Company Drayton Green Church London

London design studio Piercy & Company has forged a solid reputation for their sensitive, contextual approach to significant, listed historic buildings and their surroundings. With the project for the new church for Drayton Green in West London, for the first time, the architects worked on the construction of a civic building which is a reference point for the growing community.

Lissoni Casal Ribeiro interior design of the Hotel Café Royal in London

In 2012, three historic buildings in the centre of London, between Regent Street and Piccadilly Circus, were converted into the new Hotel Café Royal in an important architectural project by David Chipperfield Architects in partnership with restoration studio Donald Insall Associates. Lissoni Casal Ribeiro’s project fits into this conversion project, renewing all the common areas in the hotel with elements of contemporary design while preserving the memory of the place.

Lissoni & Partners architecture, nature and industry on the lake - Fantini Headquarters in Pella

Architect Piero Lissoni and his team designed the new Fantini headquarters in Pella, in the province of Novara, in a stupendous natural spot on the shore of Lake Orta. The complex, delicate project permits harmonious integration of the industrial buildings into their natural surroundings. The project won the 2018 Best of Year Award in the kitchen and bathroom Showroom category presented by the American magazine Interior Design in New York.
