The architects of Dutch studio XVW architectuur designed the Atelier in an Orchard, a small building combining contemporary form with the Japanese Shou Sugi Ban technique to create a simple, cosy volume that fits perfectly into the orchard where it stands.

Miralles Tagliabue EMBT Le Pavillon of Romainville

The transformation of the new centre for cultural life in Romainville, a municipality in the metropolitan area of Paris, is now complete. The project by architect Benedetta Tagliabue and her studio Miralles Tagliabue EMBT in partnership with French studio Ilimelgo Architectes brings new life to the little Palais des Fêtes building, transforming the whole area into Le Pavillon, a cultural complex connected with the city, the new garden and the nearby forest.

Circular economy and design: a pavilion by Various Associates

Chinese design firm Various Associates has been commissioned by the Shenzhen Institute of Interior Design to create the pavilion for the DESIGN IN BAY AREA exhibition. Various Associates made use of recycled materials, a modular construction method to reduce waste, and the circular economy in light of the temporary nature of the installation.

KAAN Architecten designs Loenen Pavilion, a memorial building in harmony with nature
