New dates for the 2020 International Architecture Exhibition at La Biennale di Venezia
August 29 through November 29 are the new dates announced by Biennale di Venezia for the 17th International Architecture Exhibition, entitled "How will we live together?" and curated by architect Hashim Sarkis. The change is necessary to give institutions and architects from more than 60 countries all over the world time to complete the set-up of the pavilions and the international exhibition.

Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara win the 2020 Pritzker Prize
Their integral approach, generosity toward their colleagues, commitment to excellence in architecture, responsible approach to the environment and faith in collaboration are all merits the Pritzker Prize jury listed in its motivation for awarding the prestigious Pritzker Prize, a sort of Nobel Prize for architecture, to Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara, founders of Grafton Architects in Dublin, Ireland.

How will we live together? 17th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice
“How will we live together?”, the 17th International Architecture Exhibition curated by Hashim Sarkis and organised by Biennale di Venezia was presented to the press on 27 February, via streaming in view of the new coronavirus covid-19 and in the name of a form of architecture that unites us all. On this occasion Paolo Baratta announced that this would be his last day as chairman, handing over the organisation of the Biennale di Venezia to the new chairman, Roberto Cicutto.

Gae Aulenti: A Creative Universe exhibition at Vitra Schaudepot
On 28 February 2020 Vitra Schaudepot inaugurated the exhibition “Gae Aulenti: A Creative Universe” about Italy’s Gae Aulenti, one of the most influential post-war architects and designers, whose iconic works such as the 1965 Pipistrello lamp played an important role in Italian design and helped make the country’s products famous world-wide.

Cuba Grafica exhibition at Iuav University in Venice
Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia, the Institute of Architecture at Venice University, hosts an exhibition entitled “Cuba Grafica - Manifesti cinematografici dell’ICAIC dalla collezione Bardellotto”, focusing on the original movement in the graphic arts that focused on film posters beginning in 1959, the year of foundation of ICAIC: Instituto Cubano de Arte e Industria Cinematográficos. The exhibition offers an important opportunity to recognise the creativity and talent of Cuban graphic designers and the graphic art that changed the look of Cuba.

Exhibition of projects submitted for the DAM Preis 2020 won by David Chipperfield Architects’ James Simon Galerie
Starting on 31 January 2020, Frankfurt’s DAM Deutsches Architekturmuseum hosts an exhibition about the projects entered for the DAM Preis 2020, a competition for the best architecture in Germany held since 2007. The winning project in 2020 is the James Simon Galerie in Berlin, designed by David Chipperfield Architects.
