The reopening of the MKG, Hamburg where culture is accessible again
After being closed for seven weeks in response to the legislation to limit contagion during the COVID-19 pandemic, Germany is starting to open the cultural institutions again, including the famous Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg (MKG), where visitors will be able to enjoy the exhibitions.

bauhaus.film.digitally.expanded, the ZKM exhibition goes onto the Internet
The bauhaus.film.expanded exhibition at Zentrum für Kunst und Medien Karlsruhe (ZKM) that pays tribute to the Bauhaus world of moving images opened on 7 February 2020 and in response to the social distancing measures in place, it is now accessible in digital format on the centre’s site, with an extended programme.

Marion Weiss and Michael Manfredi are the 2020 recipients of the Thomas Jefferson Foundation Medal in Architecture
On April 13, 2020, architects Marion Weiss and Michael Manfredi, founders of the WEISS/MANFREDI Architecture/Landscape/Urbanism architecture firm, considered as one of the "emerging players" in North America’s landscape of architectural firms, will be awarded the Thomas Jefferson Foundation Medal in Architecture. The prestigious award was established in 1966 and over the years, important masters of architecture and internationally renowned architects have been awarded the Medals, including: Mies van der Rohe, Alvar Aalto, Marcel Breuer, Kenzo Tange, Robert Venturi, Leon Krier, Fumihiko Maki, Aldo Rossi and more recently Lord Richard Rogers, Glen Murcutt, Peter Zumthor, Zaha Hadid, Yvonne Farrell/Shelley McNamara and more.

Architecture and design films and events to follow via streaming
As we continue to live under lockdown in the hopes of stopping the spread of the Covid-19 virus, the amount of content available for viewing from home with today’s electronic devices has been growing, and a number of interesting proposals have emerged in the world of architecture and design, including documentary films, meetings via streaming, virtual tours and content for families with children.

All the events in SpazioFMG’s The Architects Series now available via streaming
The first 12 events in The Architects Series, the event format created by The Plan magazine for SpazioFMGperl'Architettura, the gallery and showroom of Iris Ceramica and FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti, top brands in the Iris Ceramica Group, are now available online. Each episode is a double event featuring a documentary film offering a behind-the-scenes look at the architectural practice and interviews conducted at SpazioFMG per l'Architettura during meetings with the architects.
