Everything and Nothing – Architects Kaija + Heikki Siren exhibition

On the 100th anniversary of the birth of Kaija Siren, two exhibitions in Finland celebrate her work with her husband and colleague, architect Heikki Siren. The exhibition under way at Kamu Museum in Espoo is the first in Finland to offer a complete retrospective of the studio’s architecture, covering works built in various cities all over the world, from the famous Otaniemi Chapel to experimental projects in the garden city of Tapiola and the Baghdad Conference Palace. The exhibition title quotes Italian composer Luigi Nono’s comment on the Sirens’ style: Tutto e niente! This has everything and nothing!

The Design Museum inaugurates the Beazley Designs of the Year

The thirteenth edition of the awards promoted by the Design Museum in London began on October 21, 2020. The 74 finalists selected by a committee of international experts offer a snapshot of today’s world through the lens of design.

Isaac Julien pays tribute to Lina Bo Bardi – Un meraviglioso groviglio at Maxxi in Rome

"Lina Bo Bardi – Un meraviglioso groviglio" is a tribute to the Italo-Brazilian architect by British artist and filmmaker Isaac Julien. The film installation and photo series presented in the exhibition, curated by Luigia Lonardelli, are on view until 17 January 2021 at MAXXI, the National Museum of XXI Century Arts in Rome.

The "AT HOME 20.20" exhibition, on at the MAXXI Museum in Rome until November 1, opened its doors to the public with a new focus that takes into account the recent pandemic experience and the manner in which the latter has changed the way we experience domestic spaces. The Museum also extended this relevant reflection on the post COVID-19 home to its first digital Casa Mondo exhibition, set up and curated by the Formafantasma studio and created exclusively for Instagram.

“Attraverso le Alpi” - exhibition on the transformations of the alpine landscape

On September 18, the “Attraverso le Alpi” exhibition opened its doors in 10 different locations, a photographic series commissioned by the Associazione Architetti Arco Alpino, which examines the transformations of the Alpine landscape. The photographic reportage was created by the Urban Reports photographers collective and consists of 274 shots which illustrate the transformations that have taken place along the Alpine valleys of the entire Italian Alps, from the French to the Slovenian border.

SCALIURBANI - Green Edition Digital Week

From September 22 to October 8, the Order of Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects and Conservators of the Province of Livorno will be promoting the festival titled SCALIURBANI. The event, featuring over one hundred prestigious guests, including architects and designers such as MVRDV, Fernanda Marques, Andrea Maffei and Alfonso Femia, will focus on issues relating to eco-responsibility and sustainable development for architecture, city, territory and landscape projects to be completed in the foreseeable future. The fully digital version is part of the circuit of events promoted by the European Union with a focus on Sustainable Development.

The Holz Bau Stadt München exhibition at Architekturgalerie München showcases one of the largest eco-friendly building projects in Munich. The idea of a pilot housing estate on the site of a former barracks was born more than 10 years ago as an example of sustainable urban development with timber constructions and hybrid solutions for the residential buildings.
