Tchoban Voss Architekten: Re-Use Exhibition at the Aedes Architecture Forum in Berlin

From May 29, the Aedes Architecture Forum in Berlin will be hosting the “Re-Use” exhibition dedicated to the works of the Tchoban Voss Architekten studio. The studio has dedicated itself, for years, to projects that respect the history and architectural language of pre-existing buildings, recognising their important role and impact in the urban space. A modus operandi which the architects have successfully applied to projects completed in Germany and in other parts of the world and which was also the subject of the first exhibition titled "The Java Tower" organised at the same Aedes Architecture Forum back in 1997.

In a live-streamed event on April 23, architect Alessandro Melis presented "Resilient Communities", the Italian Pavilion at the 17th International Architecture Exhibition at La Biennale di Venezia, promoted by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Italian Ministry of Culture. The theme of the pavilion becomes a voyage in search of answers to the momentous challenges facing architecture and our way of living on Earth today, not in order to simplify them, but to acknowledge the complexity that surrounds us.

Opened in 1960, the SAS Royal Hotel is one of Arne Jacobsen’s most iconic buildings, and one of Denmark’s first skyscrapers. Biennale Architettura 2021 due to open on May 22

Biennale President Roberto Cicutto and curator Hashim Sarkis have confirmed the dates of the 17th International Architecture exhibition, entitled “How will we live together?”, May 22 through November 21, 2021 at the Giardini, the Arsenale and Forte Marghera, with the usual pre-opening on May 20 and 21. The live-streamed presentation saw the participation of Christopher Turner, who, along with Ella Kilgallon, curates the 2021 Applied Arts Pavilion under a partnership between La Biennale di Venezia and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design have announced the winners of the 2020 edition of the "Europe 40under40®" Award. The challenges associated with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic have not hampered the recognition reserved for young European architects and designers. An award that looks to the future, in search of new emerging figures in the field of architecture and design: 40 professionals under the age of 40, who best represent the European architectural scene.
