H&A Associati designs NH Collection Venezia Murano Villa

On the island of Murano, renowned for its long tradition of glass-making, an old and historic glass factory has been the subject of a careful urban regeneration project, carried out by the H&A Associati architectural firm, and transformed into a new hotel for the NH Collection chain. Brick is the fil rouge that ties together the pre-existing buildings to the new construction elements in every part of the complex, from the internal spaces to the common areas, up to the rooms and suites.

Rafiq Azam: house with pool of water in Dhaka

A key representative of a new form of architecture that combines natural elements with cement, Rafiq Azam completed his most recent home in the centre of Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2010. The strong contrast between the artificial and the natural represents an attempt to create something unique despite the degradation of the city around it.
